Questions
- What are action verbs on a resume?
- The verb a bullet starts with: Led, Built, Cut, Grew. It tells the reader what you did before they read anything else, which is why "Responsible for" — a duty, not an action — is the weakest way to start.
- Should every bullet start with a different verb?
- Mostly. Repeating "Managed" five times reads as a list of duties. Pick the verb that says what actually happened: built something new, improved something old, cut a cost.
- Past or present tense?
- Past tense for past jobs. For your current job, present tense for ongoing work and past tense for finished results both work — just be consistent within a job.
