Refacet

Comparison

Refacet, Teal, Rezi and Kickresume compared

All four use AI to help you write a resume. The difference is where the words come from: Teal, Rezi and Kickresume generate text from a job title or description for you to edit; Refacet interviews you and writes only what you said.

Which one to pick

You don’t know what to write about your own work: Refacet

A blank “Responsibilities” box gets you a list of duties. Refacet asks the follow-up a recruiter would — what changed, by how much, who it was for — and turns your answers into bullets. Nothing is added that you didn’t say, and you approve each entry before it is saved. Then paste a job description to see which requirements you meet and build a resume for that job. How the interview works.

You are applying to many jobs at once: Teal

Teal’s job tracker and Chrome extension save postings from job boards and keep your applications in one place, with a match score per job. Refacet has no job tracker.

You want to pay once: Rezi

Rezi sells lifetime access for a one-time $149, and Pro adds a monthly review by a person. It also has mock interview practice for the interview itself. Refacet’s credit packs are also one-time, but you buy credits rather than access.

You mostly need a polished design: Kickresume

Kickresume has the widest choice of templates, matching cover letters and a personal website, and its free plan allows unlimited downloads. Refacet has fewer layouts; its effort goes into what the resume says.

Whichever you use, check the numbers

A model that writes from a job title has never seen your work, so the metrics and tools in its draft are guesses that sound right. Recruiters ask about them in interviews. Before you send a resume from any of these tools, make sure you could explain every number on it.

Questions

Which AI resume builder is best?
It depends on what you start with. If you find it hard to describe your own work, Refacet’s interview gets the details out of you. If you apply to many jobs and want to track them, Teal. If you want to pay once, Rezi’s lifetime plan. If you mostly want a good-looking template, Kickresume.
Do AI resume builders make things up?
Any tool that generates bullets from a job title has to guess what you did, so check every number and tool it writes. Refacet only writes what you told it during the interview and asks when a detail is missing.
Which one is cheapest?
Kickresume and Teal have free plans; Refacet gives 300 free credits and then sells one-time credit packs from $5. For a single job search, a one-time pack or a short Teal+ period usually costs less than a monthly subscription.
Is there a free AI resume builder with no sign-up?
Refacet’s free tools (bullet improver, summary generator, cover letter generator and others) need no account. The full builders all ask you to sign up.
