Terms of Service

These terms apply to Refacet, run by sjwwhenever ("we"), including the desktop app and the web app at app.refacet.app. By using Refacet you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
Your account
The web app requires signing in with Google. Keep your Google account secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at sjwwhenever@gmail.com if you think it has been misused.
Your content
You own what you put into Refacet: your profile, experiences, chats and resumes. You give us only the permission needed to store and process it to provide the service to you, including sending it to the AI provider you choose when you use AI features.
AI features
In the desktop app, AI features run through the third-party provider you choose, using the API key you supply. Your use of that provider is governed by its own terms, and any charges it bills to your key are between you and that provider.
In the web app, Refacet provides the AI (currently DeepSeek) and you pay for it with credits, as described below.
Credits, payments and refunds
- Each AI action in the web app (such as a chat reply, a job match or a resume import) costs a fixed number of credits, listed under Credits in the web app along with your balance and a record of every charge. Translation between your language versions is free. When your balance runs out, paid AI features pause until you add credits. We may change the price of an action; the new price applies from then on.
- New accounts receive a one-time allowance of free credits.
- You can buy credit packs, each a one-time payment; nothing renews automatically. Credits you buy are valid for 6 months from the purchase; unused credits expire after that. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred.
- Payments are processed by our reseller and merchant of record, Creem, which handles checkout, taxes and receipts. Creem's terms also apply to your purchase.
- Refunds: if you're not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of a purchase. We refund it in full if none of its credits have been used, and pro rata for the unused part otherwise. Refunded credits are removed from your balance. This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer law.
- Prices may change; a change never affects credits you have already bought.
AI output
AI-generated suggestions, matches and resume text can be inaccurate or incomplete. Review everything before you rely on it or send it to an employer. You are responsible for the accuracy of the resumes and applications you submit.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Refacet to break the law or infringe others' rights.
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to use, or other people's personal data without permission.
- Don't try to access other users' data, overload the service, or interfere with its security.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Refacet running and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the web app down, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
Disclaimer and liability
Refacet is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities resulting from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Ending use
You can stop using Refacet at any time and ask us to delete your web app account at sjwwhenever@gmail.com.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use Refacet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
